Family Story in Crosby County History Book
T.W. (Tiny) Stockton Sr., a resident of the Crosbyton area for almost 50 years, was pronounced dead on arrival at Crosbyton Hospital at 8:30 p.m. Monday after suffering a heart attack in his home southeast of the city.Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Crosbyton First Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Crouch, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.
A native of Arkansas, Stockton moved to Texas with his parents and settled at Buffalo Gap in Taylor County. He moved with his family to Crosby County in 1917 and had lived on the same farm southeast of the city since that time.
Stockton was a charter director of the Crosbyton Co-op Gin, a life-long member of the Methodist Church where he served in a number of official capacities, and had served as a member of the Crosbyton School Board.
Survivors include his wife, Celone; two daughters, Mrs. Billy Cornelius, Crosbyton, and Mrs. Harvey Wright, Elk City, OK; three sons, T.W. Jr., Crosbyton; Max, Lubbock, and Elbie, Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Herschel Stockton, San Angelo; one brother, Charlie, Buffalo Gap; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Flippo, Abilene, and Mrs. Ross Gentry, San Juan; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

CROSBYTON (Special) Mrs. T.W. Stockton, 77, a resident of Crosbyton since 1916, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Crosbyton Nursing Home.Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Crouch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stockton was a native of Dela County.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Billie Cornelius of Crosbyton and Mrs. Harvey Wright of Elk City, OK; three sons, T.W. Jr. of Crosbyton, Max of Lubbock and Elbie of Amarillo; two brothers, Herman Winters of Clyde and Creed Winters of Los Angeles; four sisters, Mrs. A.L. Clyburn of Clyde, Mrs. S.B. Campbell of Lorenzo, and Mrs. M.C. Rhoades and Miss Verda Winters, both of Clyde; 12 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
