CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Billye Marye Stockton, 58, of Crosbyton will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jo Carr, pastor, officiating.

The Rev. David Treat, pastor of Lubbock´s Agape Methodist Church, will assist.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stockton died at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Littlefield. She married T.W. Stockton Jr. on Dec. 29, 1954, in Littlefield. She was a homemaker and an artist. She was on the Crosby County Child Welfare Board, Pioneer Memorial Building Committee Board and Crosbyton Fine Arts Association. She was named Crosbyton Woman of the Year in 1982. She was former editor of the Crosbyton Review and a former contributing reporter for the Lubbock Avalanche Journal and Texas Country and Western Magazine. She graduated from Littlefield High school and Texas Tech University. She was a member of Texas Tech Alumni Association. She was a teacher in Littlefield and Olton. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Jan Parker of Richardson, Sandy Harrell of Crosbyton and Sydney Silipo of Lamesa; her mother, Loraine Hopping of Ralls; a brother, Clifford Hopping of Lubbock; and five grandchildren.

CROSBYTON (Special) — Graveside services for T.W. Stockton Jr., 71, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Jo Carr of Lubbock officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Stockton died Friday, Feb. 23, 1996, at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

He was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Crosby County. He married Billye Marye Hopping on Dec. 29, 1954, in Littlefield. She died Oct. 10, 1988. He graduated from Crosbyton High school and attended West Texas State College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of Crosbyton First United Methodist Church, and he served as president of the Associated Cotton Growers Gin.

He served on the board of directors of the American Cotton Growers Denim Mill at Littlefield, the Plains Cotton Co-Op Mill and the National Cotton Council. He was a member of Crosbyton Masonic Lodge, and he was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was elected Crosbyton Man of the Year in 1987, and he was named Crosbyton Citizen Through the Years in 1992. His family was named Agricultural Family of the Year in 1980.

Survivors include three daughters, Jan Parker of Richardson, Sandy Harrell of Crosbyton and Sydney Silipo of Lamesa; a sister, Marie Cornelius of Crosbyton; and five grandchildren.
