  Leonard David Stewart Sr., a Crosbyton resident since 1920, was claimed by death about 9 a.m. Friday at his home, 121 North Berkshire, following a lengthy illness. He was 72.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Al Jennings, pastor, and the Rev. Johnnie Williams, a retired Methodist minister from Lubbock, officiated.

Burial was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

Born Oct. 30, 1912, in Clarksville, Mr. Stewart and Faye Roberts were married Oct. 6, 1934, in Littlefield.

Leonard Stewart served in the Navy during World War II.

A truck driver, he was a member of the Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Faye; two sons, Dave Stewart of Breckenridge and Larry Stewart of Crosbyton; one brother, Ed Stewart of Lubbock; one sister, Mandy Stewart of San Bernardino, CA; and two grandchildren.
