Funeral services for Ben Steadham, 87, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Ralls with the Rev. Jim Ransom, pastor, officiating. Steadham died Monday in a Lubbock hospital.Masonic graveside rites were conducted at Crosbyton Cemetery with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home.
Steadham moved to McAdoo in 1924 from Young County and to Ralls in 1970. He was a retired farmer.
A member of the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge No. 1020, he received his 50 year pin on his 86th birthday. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nona; a son, Benny of Lubbock; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Wells of Ralls; a brother, John of Crosbyton; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Lemley of Crosbyton; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Nona Jane Steadham of Ralls, a former longtime McAdoo resident, succumbed about 7:20 a.m. Monday in Methodist after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Steadham was 83.Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in McAdoo First Baptist Church. Officiating was the Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor of Ralls First Baptist Church.
Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery.
A native of Jack County, TX, Mrs. Steadham was born March 30, 1894. She and Ben Steadham were married December 28, 1933 in Young County.
The couple moved to McAdoo in 1933 from Young County and went to Ralls in 1970. Mr. Steadham preceded his wife in death on February 28, 1972.
Survivors include one son, Benny Steadham of McAdoo; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Marilyn) Wells of Ralls; a niece, Mrs. Nora McCaskey of San Antonio; and three grandchildren.
