Services for Geneva Belle Starrett, 82, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 1996, in the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Tom Woodward, officiating.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Mrs. Starrett died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 1996, in St. Mary´s Hospital in Lubbock. She was born December 2, 1913, in Chillicothe, TX, and married S.P. "Slats" Starrett in Crosbyton on October 21, 1933. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1979. She was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church, Methodist Women, Crosbyton Senior Citizens and a former member of the District Clerk Association. She served as 72nd District Clerk in Crosbyton from 1961 to 1978. She moved to Crosby County in 1929.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Hicks, Sammie Brakebill, and Cheryl Adams all of Crosbyton; four sisters, Pet Ott and Ethel Logan both of Hereford, Frances Johnston of Seminole, and Winifred Honeycutt of Temple; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Goodwill Sunday Class.
