Services for Henry Russell Starrett, 84 year old retired farmer of the Broadway community on the East Plains, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pansy Baptist church. Officiating pastors were Rev. A.P. Stokes of Afton, Rev. Melvin Ratheal of Spur and Rev. L. F. Jordon, pastor of the Pansy church.
Mr. Starrett, a resident of Crosby county since 1912, died in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital at 8 p.m. Friday following a short illness. Many relatives and friends gathered at his home recently in celebration of his 84th anniversary.
Born in Tennessee March 7, 1867, Mr. Starrett moved to Crosby county in January of 1912, settling on the East Plains where he had since made his home. He came to Crosby county from Johnson county.
Survivors include the wife; a daughter, Mrs. Joe Lambert of Hobbs, N. Mex.; two sons, Clyde Starrett and Lawrence Starret both of Crosbyton; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Burial was in the Crosbyton cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.

Services for Mrs. Dodie Starrett, 91, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Pansy Baptist Church in Broadway Community.
Officiating were the Rev. D.G. Davidson and the Rev. Melvin Ratheal, both of Lubbock, and the Rev. R.L. Findley, pastor of Pansy Baptist Church.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Starrett, a resident of Crosby County since 1912, died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital. She had been in ill health for several months and underwent surgery 12 days ago.
She lived in the Broadway Community, near Crosbyton, moving there from Cleburne with her husband, the late Henry R. Starrett.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence and Clyde, both of Crosbyton, a daughter, Mrs. Joe Lambert of Hobbs, NM; a brother, Charley Guinn of Cisco; a sister, Mrs. Ira Moseley of Clyle; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
