Condra Starrett Picture
CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for Conda Starrett, 84, of the Kalgary community will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Ramsey, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after an apparent heart attack at his home.

He was born in Johnson County and moved to Crosby County in 1909. He married Mattie Lee Harden on Jan. 6, 1924, in Crosbyton. They moved from Crosbyton to the Kalgary community in 1944. He operated a post office and general store and was a farmer and rancher. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tookie Maze and Mury Ann Stanley, both of Crosbyton; two sisters, Lena Givens and Hallie Sullivan, both of Crosbyton and two grandchildren.

CROSBYTON (Special) Graveside services for Mattie Lee Starrett, 95, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. today in Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Bud Kidwell officiating.

Burial is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

She died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Crosbyton Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 21, 1904, in Acton. She married Conda Starrett on Jan. 6, 1924, in Crosbyton. He died on Oct. 25, 1986. She was a member of the Acton Methodist Church. She attended school in Acton. She moved to Crosby County on Jan. 1, 1920. She was Postmaster at Kalgary from 1944 to 1952. She also worked at White River Lake as a gatekeeper. She was a seamstress.

Survivors include two daughters, Tookie Maze and Mury Ann Stanley, both of Crosbyton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
