Obituary

  Funeral services for William Roland Smith, 72, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiated. Burial followed in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith died at 3:15 p.m. Monday in Methodist Hospital. Wayne LeCroy Justice of the Peace, ruled death due to natural causes.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1906 in Robert Lee, Texas and married Alice Lesher on May 23, 1969 in Elkton, Maryland. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Navy. His occupation was land leveler. He moved to Crosby County in 1912.

Survivors include his wife; and one sister, Velma Smith Baker of Temple.
