Obituary

Services for W. B. Smith Are Held Tuesday

Funeral services for William Bennett Smith, 76, a resident of Crosbyton for 34 years, were held Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock at the Crosbyton Church of Christ, with F. L. Paisley, minister, officiating. Burial was in the Crosbyton cemetery, under direction of King Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith died Monday at 8:35 a.m. at the Crobyton Clinic Hospital, following a long illness. He was taken to the hospital from his home last Monday.

Mr. Smith followed his trade as a carpenter for many years after moving to the city. Bad health had confined him to his home most of the time for the past several years.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Tandy of Crosbyton, Roland and Harold, both of Pennsylvania; four daughters, Mrs. George D. Ray, of Artesia, N.M.; Exa Powell, of Odessa, Mrs. A. Hollingsworth, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. J. M. Baker of Portales, N.M.; four brothers, Bob and Arth, both of Spur, O. C. of Farley, N.M. and Dude of Aztex, N.M.; seventeen grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were A. D. Alston, L. D. Hucksbay, Elmer Mitchell, Charlie Parker, Hubert Sandal and Homer Ellison.
