Novelle Smith of Ardmore, OK, was buried at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Crosbyton Cemetery. Funeral rites were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Bettis Funeral Home Chapel in Ardmore.Mrs. Smith, 71, was claimed by death Saturday in Ardmore Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born May 20, 1915, in Crews, she had been an Ardmore resident since 1962, when she moved from Morton. She was a retired motel owner and operator.
The former Novelle Witt married Pat R Smith in Crosbyton on Jan. 1, 1935.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Doreta Keith of Victoria and Patricia Reynolds of Ardmore; three brothers, Weldon Witt of Lakeside, AZ, Lois Witt of Crosbyton and Dee Witt of Brownsville; three sisters, Ruby Love of Monahans, Esteele Maze of Lubbock and Dorotha Drennan of Morton; and six grandchildren.
