The death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Smith in south crosbyton Tuesday night and took from them their darling babe, Hilda K. who was seven months and twenty-one days of age. Yesterday was a day of sadness in Crosbyton as the news spread of the death, more people were ready to offer sympathy and a helping hand. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. H.E. Smith, and were very impressive, as Mr. Smith is a tender and smpyathetic talker. Misses Vera Gamble, Floy Ellison, Nannie Collier and Verna Ellison, four of our young ladies, all dressed in white, acted as pall-bearers. Every business house in town was closed from three to four o'clock for the funeral, which took place at the Presbyterian Church. The body was laid to rest in the Crosbyton Cemetery at five fifteen. The entire community is in sympathy with the bereaved parents and relatives. May God comfort them with the sweet consolation that He does all things for the best and that the little one has gone to Him who Giveth.

"Oh, death, how terrible thou art."
"Our God to call us homeward,
His only son sent down, and now still more to try our hearts,
Has taken up our own.
Our hopes of thee were lofty,
But have we cause to grieve?
O could our proudest, fondest wish,
A nobler fate conceive?
There is many an empty cradle,
There is many a vacant bed;
There is many a lonely bosom,
Whose joy and light have fled.
For thick is every graveyard,
The little hillocks lie,
And every hillock represents
An angel in the sky.
Little Hilda we will miss you,
Many long days to come,
But in heaven we will come to caress you,
When our life's work here is done."
