Brain Hemorrhage Claims Lawrence M. Simmons Jr.

Lawrence Simmons Jr. U.S.Flag   Funeral services for Lawrence M. Simmons Jr., 27, Lubbock, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church, Crosbyton, with Mr. Carl Grisham of Andrews, officiating.

Mr. Wayland Boyd of Crosbyton assisted. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery.

Simmons died early Sunday in a Waco hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage. He had gone to Waco for the weekend to visit relatives.

He was part owner of the Truck Haven service station on the Idalou Highway, and had lived in Lubbock the past four years.

Survivors are his wife, the former Joyce Brown; two daughters, Linda, 7, and Barbara, 4, all of Lubbock; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Simmons, Lubbock; a brother, Bill, Lubbock; a stepbrother, Jack Davis, Crosbyton; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Wallace, McAdoo, and Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Simmons, Hillsboro.

Pallbearers were Jack Jones, Jimmy Charles Dunn, Bobby Race Hefley, Bob Hedrick, Carry Edwards, Howard Gene Bishop, Bill Simpson and Billy Bob Wright.
