Obituary

Funeral services for Earley Sessions, 75, a resident of Crosbyton for 25 years, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in King Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bill Kent, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiated.

Burial was in Crosbyton cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.

Sessions died in a Spur hospital early Tuesday. He had been taken to a Jayton rest home a few weeks ago following a stroke.

A deaf mute all his life, Sessions had gained the respect of Crosbyton people because of his complete independence. Relatives tried many times to get him to live with them but since he liked Crosbyton he always returned after a few weeks.

Born at Azle, he attended the Texas School for the Deaf, Austin where he learned to write and converse on his hands. For many years merchants had paid him for cleaning curbs, and he worked regularly until a few months ago.

He was an ardent football fan and seldom missed a local game. He also attended First Methodist Church often, and enjoyed playing dominoes.

He is survived by two brothers, Bryan, Denton, and Joe B., California; a sister, Mrs. Walter Rankin, Azle; and a cousin, H.A. Sessions, Sundown.
