V.V. Scott photoV.V. Scott, 77, of Olton, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in Olton. Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother David Azam and Brother Kyle Streun officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 P.M. at Crosbyton Cemetery in Crosbyton under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 12, 2016.

V.V. was born December 16, 1938 in Kalgary, Texas, in Crosby County, to Virgil and Geraldean (Maize) Scott. He married Jean Ellison on June 11, 1983, in Lubbock. V.V. was involved with farming and real estate before starting a career in education. He coached in McAdoo, Flomot, Adrian, Matador, and Smyer. A principal in Ropesville before moving to Olton in 1996, V.V. retired in 2004 as the principal of H.P. Webb Elementary in Olton. V.V. enjoyed hunting, traveling to the mountains, and looking at wildflowers. Most of all, he loved the yearly Scott Family Reunion and the family campouts. Touching many lives throughout the years, V.V. will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Scott of Olton, two daughters, Micki Woodman and her husband, Bart of Dumas and Amy Manchee and her husband, Mike of Amarillo, two sons, Darrin Scott and his wife, Denice of Lubbock and Kurt Mabry of Petersburg, one brother, Leroy Scott of Lubbock and a sister, Ethel Edwards of Tulia. He was blessed with ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church P.O. Box 408 Olton, TX 79064 or a favorite charity.
