CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Bert Robinett, 86, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin, pastor, and Nealy Richardson, elder of Floydada, officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Robinett died Tuesday, May 10, 1994, in Crosbyton Care Center.

He was born on May 13, 1907, in Norton County. He married Merle Howell on March 20, 1929, in Crosbyton. He moved to Crosby County in 1970 and was a farmer and a member of Crosbyton First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, LaJuana Calhoun of Round Rock, Wynell Freeman of Lamesa and D´Linda Valentine of Lubbock; a brother, Sherman of Denver City; three sisters, Mabel Morris of Crosbyton, Geta Wiggins of El Paso and Ada Eva Meacham of Huntington Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.

Merle RobinettGraveside services for Maudie Merle Robinett, 101, of Lamesa and formerly Crosbyton will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with Rev. Jesse Gillham officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Merle passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2010 as Sage Health Care Center in Lamesa.

She was born on May 3, 1909 in Dickens County to the late William Penn and Laura Elizabeth (Rucker) Howell. On March 29, 1929 she married William Bert Robinett in Crosbyton. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1994.

She was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She moved to Lamesa from Crosbyton where she lived much of her life. She had also lived in Smyer.

She is preceded in death by two daughters, LaJuana Calhoun and D'Linda Valentine and two sisters, Mable Worden and Meddie McElroy and a brother, Hubert Howell.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Wynell and J. C. Freeman of Lamesa; a sister, Thelma Hinson of Crosbyton; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Compass Hospice 1003 E. FM 700 Big Spring, Texas 79720.
