Obituary

Memorial services for Minnie Lee Roberts of Lubbock, a former Crosbyton resident, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church. Officiating were Elder George Johnson of Idalou. Elder Afton Richards of Ralls and Elder Jim Jackson of Floydada.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home directed arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers were Edwin Roberts, Dan Roberts, Kelly Roberts, Leck Hellen, Jim Bob Simmos and Tom Taylor.

Mrs. Roberts, 84, was claimed by death at 9:10 p.m. Sunday in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness.

Born June 30, 1898, in Killeen, Tex., she was married to Elzie L. Roberts on Sept. 9, 1919, in Lakeview Community (Floyd County). Mrs. Roberts was a housewife and an art teacher.

She was the last charter member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Crosbyton.

Mrs. Roberts had made her home in Lubbock since moving there in 1970 from Crosbyton.

Survivors include one son, Tommy J. Roberts of Lubbock; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Shirley Beth) McCarty of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Laverne Roberts of Lubbock; three sisters, Mrs. Tillman (Mae) Reeves of Crosbyton, Mrs. Ernest (Genia) Roberson and Mrs. Griffin (Willie) Odom, both of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Another son, Elvis Roberts, preceded his mother in death March 18, 1975.
