Rosary for Maria "Mamo" Rivas, 75, of Crosbyton was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel in Lubbock.Mass was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at St. Joseph´s Catholic Church in Crosbyton with the Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Calvillo Funeral Home of Lubbock.
She died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Lubbock.
She was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Taft. She married Santos Rivas in 1977 in Crosbyton. He died March 16, 1988. She was a lifelong resident of Crosbyton and a Catholic.
Survivors include 10 sons, Joey Garza and Rudy Garza, both of Lubbock, Efrain Rivas, Albert Rivas, Alfredo Rivas, Eliseo Rivas and Joe Rivas, all of Slaton, Ramon Rivas of Corpus Christi, Roberto Rivas of Sinton and Gabriel Rivas of El Paso; five daughters, Joann Garza, Sandra Bryand, Carmen Arroyo Ryta Davila and Maria DeLaGarza, all of Crosbyton; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
