Obituary
Funeral rites were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church for Willard H. Richardson, a well-known resident of this community since he was five years of age.Rev. L.E. Sims of Matador conducted services. He was assisted by Rev. Ernest Stewart of Crosbyton and Rev. Donald Hancock of Plainview.
Masonic graveside rites were conducted at Crosbyton Cemetery. King Funeral Home directed arrangements.
Mr. Richardson, 65, succumbed at 5:05 a.m. last Wednesday morning in University Hospital in Lubbock. He had been undergoing tests and was scheduled for open heart surgery Tuesday.
A native of Alvarado, Willard Richardson was reared in the Pansy community. After farming for a number of years, he had been an electrician the past 10 years.
Mr. Richardson was a past master of the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge no. 1020 AF&AM. He served the lodge for a number of years as secretary.
Survivors include his wife, Dama; one son, George "Pete" Richardson of LaPorte; three daughters, Mrs. Clayburn (Priscilla) Marsh of Crosbyton, Mrs. Myrna Dickey of Plainview and Mrs. Dick McDuff of LaPorte; a brother, John Richardson of Crosbyton; a sister, Mrs. Dewey Whalen of Crosbyton; and nine grandchildren.
