Prayer service for Refugia Rendon, 81, of Crosbyton was at 7:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. Funeral services was at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the same church with the Revs. Mateo Rendon, Jr., Jose Aguilar and Scott Parrish officiating. Burial was at the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.She passed away Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Crosbyton Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born July 4, 1923 in Elgin, Texas to Antonio and Nicolasa (Melchor) Ontiveros. On May 8, 1940 she married Mateo Rendon, Sr. in Jourdanton, Texas. She was a member of the Calvario Community Church and a homemaker. She was one of the finest mothers that ever was and had lived in Crosbyton most of her life.
Survivors include, her husband; Mateo, Sr. of Crosbyton, four sons; Antonio, Roman, Reynoldo, and Mateo, Jr. all of Crosbyton, five daughters; Lydia Medina and Teresa Jasso both of Crosbyton, Sylvia Garcia of Sonora, Eulanda Kent of San Angelo, Ruth Gonzales of Ballinger, three sisters; Olivia Orozco of Sweetwater, Victoria Mendez of San Antonio, Estella Hernandez of Poteet, 32 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers were; Antonio Rendon, Jr., Ted Rendon, Carlos Rendon, Greg Medina, Gilbert Jasso, Jr., Gabriel Garcia, Bruce Guzman and Stephen Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be all her other grandchildren.
