Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Ada V. Reed, 74, were read at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Idalou with the Rev. B.H. Kendrick officiating, assisted by the Rev. Glenn Reddell of Wolfforth.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery, directed by Carter Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Reed died at 1 a.m. Friday in a Lubbock hospital. She was a native of Ochiltree County and moved to the South Plains in 1933 from Bridgeport. She had been a resident of Crosbyton and Spade before moving to Idalou.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon W. Reed, in 1951. He was a brother of Mrs. Otis Brown, Mrs. Rex Wheeler, Jim Reed, Bill Reed and the late Herman Reed, all of Crosbyton.

She is survived by four sons, Arvis and Kenneth, both of Idalou, Harry of Sherman and John Henry of Dimmitt; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Ola Anderson of Spade and Mrs. Ayleen Kendrick of Ralls; two brothers, Arthur E. Reddell of Idalou and Ermett Reddell of Fort Worth; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hudson of Bridgeport; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
