CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for W.D. Powell, 56, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Elder George Johnson of the Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church officiating.
Jim York, minister of the Crosbyton Church of Christ, will assist.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
He died at 2:15 a.m. Friday in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Pauls Valley, OK, and moved from Maysville, OK to Crosby County in 1941. He married Rita Ratheal on May 14, 1956, in Crosbyton. He worked for the Crosby County ASCS from 1955 to 1973. He later worked as area manager of the American Cotton Growers Wake Division and was field manager of its Crosbyton branch. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Michelle Wilson of Bridgeport; his mother, Vertie Powell of Crosbyton; and a grandchild.
