Services for Lena Potts, 88, of Plainview, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 1988, in McAdoo Methodist Church with the Rev. Ruth Cooper, a retired Methodist minister from Irving, officiating.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Lena Potts was born November 17, 1899, in Billington, Texas, to Robert and Maggie Nickels.
She passed from this life March 8, 1988, in Plainview, Texas.
She moved to McAdoo from Mart, Texas, with her parents in 1912.
She and the late George Potts were married in Spur, Texas, on November 18, 1922. They made their home in McAdoo where they engaged in farming.
For many years she worked at the Post Office in McAdoo and then at the Farmers Coop Gin.
Due to failing health, she moved to Plainview about 10 years ago to be nearer her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband January 12, 1959, and one daughter who died at birth in 1927.
She was a life-long active member of the McAdoo Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Jeane and Denzil McMillan; her grandchildren, Ronnie and Dawn McMillan; Tommy and Susan McMillan; great grandchildren, Brett, Lori, Lance and Chance McMillan, all of Plainview.
One brother, R.E. Nickels of McAdoo; cousins, Raymon and Dessie Harris of McAdoo; nieces, Billie Edwards of Fort Worth and Bobbie Evans of Mart, Texas, and a sister-in-law, Emma Lauderdale of Mart, Texas.
