Obituary

Funeral rites will be read for Ray Polvadore at 2:30 p.m. today, Thursday, in the First Baptist Church. Polvadore died about 4 a.m. Tuesday in his home following an extended illness.

J.P. Graham of Lubbock will officiate. Assisting will be L.M. Handley of Crosbyton and the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.

A native of Madisonville, Polvadore moved to Crosby County in 1920.

Survivors include his wife, Tenia; a son, Linden Ray of Perryton; four brothers, Hillery of Floydada, Johnnie of Robinson, Elton of Ralls and Doyle of Lubbock; six sisters, Mrs. Letha Mae Mason of Hurst, Mrs. Lennie Stewart of Crosbyton, Mrs. Pearl Sanders of Albuquerque, NM, Mrs. Nila Brown of Irving, Mrs. Oleta Davis of Holiday and Mrs. Lou Sanders of Blyth, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Services for Tenia Polvadore Cooper, 79, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 1998, in the Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church with Elder George Johnson and Elder Mike Rodgers, Elders, officiating.

Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Mrs. Cooper was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, at her residence by Justice of the Peace James Isbell who ruled natural cause in the death.

Mrs. Cooper was born July 19, 1918, in Childress, TX. She married Ray Polvadore on Dec. 22, 1937, in Floydada. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1971. She then married Wilbur LeRoy "Bill" Cooper on Oct. 12, 1980, in Crosbyton. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1994.

She was a homemaker and a member of Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church. She was a member of the Big Four Quilting Club. She worked for Crosbyton Clinic Hospital for several years. She moved to Crosbyton in 1925 from Childress.

Survivors include a son, Ray Polvadore of Corrales, N.M.; three brothers, L.D. Richardson of Stinnett, J.D. Richardson of Lubbock and Donnie Richardson of Crosbyton; four sisters, Vesta Dewbre, Vertie Powell and Ollie Hash, all of Crosbyton and Bettie Boggs of Hereford; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
