CROSBYTON (Special) Services for Jean Marie Parkhill, 71, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin, pastor, officiating.
Burial in Crosbyton Cemetery will be directed by Adams Funeral Home
Mrs. Parkhill died at 5:09 a.m. Sunday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock following a brief illness.
She was born in Greenville and graduated from Quinlan High School. She married G.J. "Buzz" Parkhill on Aug. 26, 1945, in Orlando, Fla. The couple moved to Crosbyton in 1951 from Merit. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fist Baptist Church and the Needle Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jimmy of Crosbyton; a daughter, Cherie Hartsell of Colleyville; and four grandchildren.

Services for G. J. "Buzz" Parkhill, Jr., 88, of Crosbyton, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Lester Griffin officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Buzz passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009 at his home in Crosbyton.
He was born December 24, 1920 in Merit to the late G. J. Parkhill, Sr. and Nettie Murray Parkhill. On August 26, 1945 he married Jean Marie Stapleton in Orlando, FL. She preceded him in death on October 25, 1992. He moved to Crosbyton in 1951 and was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church where he was in the Downtown Bible Class. He was a member of the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge #1020, the York Rite, Scottish Rite and the Khiva Shrine for 60 years. He was a charter member of both the Khiva Shrine in Lubbock and the Scottish Rite in Lubbock. Buzz served as chairman of the A.S.C. county committee for 15 years and was on the president's board at Texas Tech. Buzz also served in the Army Air Force as a B-24 pilot during WWII.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Clarence and Dale Parkhill.
Survivors include: a son and his wife, Jim and Mary Parkhill of Idalou; a daughter, Cherie Parkhill of Lubbock; a sister, Christine Mosley of Wolfforth; and four grandchildren, Brandon Hartsell, Colby Hartsell, Paige Parkhill and C. J. Parkhill.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Crosbyton Sr. Citizens.
