Jarri Parker PhotoServices for Jarri Alon Parker, 80, of Crosbyton, will be at 2 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Jarri passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 at his home in Crosbyton. He was born May 12, 1929 in the Big Four Community to the late Willie Loyd and Nella (Fowler) Parker. On Jan. 5, 1951, he married Esther Herman in Jayton.

Jarri graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1946. He was the business manager for the Jayton-Girard Independent School District until his retirement in 1992. He also retired as Chief Appraiser and Tax Collector for Kent County and school district in May 1994. He took great pride in being a Jayton Jaybird.

In June of 1994, Jarri and Esther moved back to Crosbyton, where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Lions Club. He was a charter member of the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts and a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officers (TASBO).

Jarri had a strong faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wildon Lance Parker and Dalmer Parker.

Survived by his wife, Esther "Micky" of Crosbyton; children, Jarri A. Parker, Jr. of Odessa, Tom Parker of Denton, Tim Parker (Teresa) of Joplin, Mo., Charlotte Jean Clanton (Archie) of Lubbock and Patrick Parker (Melissa) of Colorado City; grandchildren, Adam Parker, Kaylee Parker, Eric Parker, Tara Torres (Jonathan) and Beau Patrick Parker; brother, Donal Parker (Jane) of Crosbyton; and sister, Arnell Easter of Paden, Okla.

Our sincere appreciation goes to VistaCare Hospice for their loving care of Jarri.

The family suggests memorials to the Crosby County Library, 114 W. Aspen, Crosbyton, TX 79322.

Esther “Micky” Parker, 81, of Crosbyton passed away September 25, 2014. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 29, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Crosbyton. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home

Micky was born November 15, 1932 to Guy and Flossie Herman in Birthright, Texas. Micky married Jarri Parker on January 5, 1951 in Jayton Texas. Jarri preceded her in death on April 10, 2010.

She was a librarian and loved to read. Micky liked genealogy, crocheting, sewing, and loved history.

She is survived by one daughter; Charlotte Jean Clanton and husband Archie of Lubbock, four sons; Jarri A. Parker Jr. of Odessa, Tom Parker of Denton, Tim Parker and wife Teresa of Joplin, MO., Patrick Parker and wife Melissa of San Angelo, one brother; John Herman of Teague, five grandchildren; Adam Parker and wife Toni, Kaylee Parker and Mackenzie Wright, Eric Parker and wife Savanna, Tara Keplinger and husband Tyler, Beau Patrick Parker, two great grandchildren; Corbin, Marley, of Joplin Missouri.

The family request donations made to Gus’s friends or the Pioneer Memorial Museum.
