Funeral services for Mrs. W. H. Nickson, longtime local resident, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Nickson died at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday in Nichols Manor after an extended illness.Elder L.M. Handley will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor, and Bill Bryant, minister of Crosbyton Church of Christ. Burial will be in Crosbyton cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nickson observed her 92nd birthday Nov. 21. She was born in Missouri Nov. 21, 1874. She and her husband had been married 69 years Monday. They were married Dec. 6, 1896, in Willow Point. They came to Crosbyton June 3, 1930, from Tioga.
Mrs. Nickson was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, W.H. Nickson; two sons, Carl Nickson and G.C. "Bill" Nickson, both of Crosbyton; three daughters, Miss Maggie Nickson of Crosbyton, Mrs. Lawrence Simmons of Lubbock and Mrs. A. W. Wood of Lorenzo; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one great great great grandchild.

CROSBYTON (Special) - Funeral services for W.H. Nickson, 91, a Crosbyton druggist since 1930, will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church here with Elder L.M. Handley, the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor and Bill Bryant, minister of Parkway Drive Church of Christ in Lubbock, officiating.Masonic graveside rites for the 56 year Mason will be conducted in Crosbyton Cemetery with burial under the direction of King Funeral Home.
A native of Winchester, Tenn., Nickson moved to Indian Territory near what is now Alma OK, where he started in the drug business. He also operated drug stores in Poolville and later in Tioga, where he served as mayor of the city several terms. In 1930, he established Nickson Pharmacy here, which he operated until his retirement in 1947. He has served as a Crosby County judge, a member of the Crosbyton City Commission, justice of the peace and on the Crosbyton School Board., He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church here.
Survivors include two daughters, Miss Maggie Nickson of Crosbyton and Mrs. Lawrence Simmons of Lubbock; two sons, Carl and Bill, both of Crosbyton; a brother, M.B. Nickson of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
