Norman C. Murrell, 63, succumbed at 9:15 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Murrell operated Murrell´s Drive-In.
Memorial rites were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. John Nay, pastor of the First Christian Church in Spur, and the Rev. Henry Salley, local Methodist pastor.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of King Funeral Home.
A DeKalb native, Mr. Murrell had resided in Crosbyton since 1954. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lunora; a son, Lee Murrell of Bedford; a sister, Mrs. Fannie Thompson of Crosbyton; a brother, Kenneth Murrell of Van Horn; and two grandchildren.
Another sister, Mrs. Deedie Kelly of Monahans, died in an accident near Tahoka the previous Tuesday night.
