Antonia MurilloAntonia Vega Murillo LUBBOCK — Antonia (Toni) Vega Murillo, 81, went with our Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2012.

Antonia was born on June 13, 1930 in Alice, Texas to Saturnino and Guadalupe Vega. She was raised in Sinton, Texas where she met and married the late Camerino Murillo. They moved to Crosbyton in 1960 where she resided until 1983. During this time she worked at the Crosbyton Nursing Home for 20 years and for the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. She moved to Lubbock in 1983 where she resided until her death. Throughout her lifetime she opened her home to many friends and family who found themselves in need of help. She loved her family and friends and will be remembered for her unconditional love, loving smile and her red velvet cakes.

Antonia was preceded in death by her husband, Camerino Murillo; a son, Tommy Murillo; a brother, Luciano Vega; and two sisters, Anita Flores and Leonarda Hernandez.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jimmy Murillo and daughter in-law Angie of Lubbock; daughters, Elpidia Paniagua and her husband Pete of Lubbock and Mary Washington of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Vega of San Antonio and Juan Vega of San Angelo; four sisters, Lucinda Perez of Markham, Estefana Gomez of Sinton, Mary Gomez of McKinney and Gloria Martinez from Houston.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012at 10 a.m. at Calvary Community Church in Crosbyton. Officiating will be Deacon Tommy Murillo. Burial will follow at Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. Viewing will be held at Calvillo Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 23rd.
