CROSBYTON Services for D.J. Moses, 68, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Crosbyton Church of Christ with Terry Ellison officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. He died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Crosbyton Hospital.
He was born March 2, 1936, in Crosbyton to Don and Lena Verett Moses. On Nov. 13, 1955, he married Jarita Flemins in Clovis, N.M. He was a member of the Crosbyton Church of Christ where he was an elder. He served on the Crosby County Fuel Board, Associated Cotton Growers Board, Crosbyton Hospital Board, Rio Blanco Soil Conservation Board and was a Crosby County Farm Bureau Director. His family was honored as the Crosbyton Chamber of Commerce Farm Family of the year in 1983 and he was honored as Crosbyton Citizen through the years in 2003. He had lived in Crosbyton all his life and served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Jarita of Crosbyton; his children, Debra Pemberton and husband Bob of Brock, Dee Moses and wife Donna of Lubbock, and Jeremy Foster and wife Jennifer of Florida; and grandchildren, Bonnie and Daniel Moses, Brian Pemberton, and Joshua and Jackson Foster. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 10, at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton. The family suggests memorials to White River Youth Camp, P.O. Box 455, Crosbyton, TX 79322, or any Parkinson's research center.
