Obituary

Alvina Hernandez Moreno, a Crosbyton resident since 1959, was claimed by death at 4:30 Thursday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a short illness. She was 70.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. Rodney Howell, administrator, officiating. Burial was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Eloy Salas, Ubaldo Hinojosa, Genaro Sandoval Jr., David Marquez, Catorino Padilla, and Leo Granado.

Born June 16, 1909 in Texas, the former Alvina Hernandez was married to Rafael Estrada Moreno on March 9, 1925 in Hidalgo County. Mr. Moreno died Dec. 5, 1973.

Mrs. Moreno, a housewife, moved to Crosbyton with her husband in 1959 from Donna.

She is survived by one son, Leonardo Moreno of Crosbyton; two daughters, Mrs. Paulita Moreno of Crosbyton and Mrs. Earnestina Tucker of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Gregoira Hernandez and Felisiono Hernandez, both of McAllen; three sisters, Tomasa Carranza, Hilouis Montanez and Petra Brisino, all of McAllen; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Moreno was preceded in death by one daughter.
