Dale MontgomeryDale Montgomery, 68, of Crosbyton, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Crosbyton Church of Christ located at Birch and Emerald with Terry Ellison officiating. Burial will follow at the Crosbyton Cemetery under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home - Crosbyton.

Dale was born in Lubbock, on August 26, 1943, to H.H (Pat) and Mildred Anna (Wingfield) Montgomery. Dale grew up in Earth, Texas, and played football, basketball for Springlake-Earth. He graduated from Springlake-Earth in 1961. Dale had a love for livestock and stock shows. On March 9, 1962 he married the love of his life Julia Ann Johnston. He then began farming in Crosbyton. He later went to work at Grower Seed and also worked at Associated Cotton Growers. Dale possessed a fun loving and outgoing personality and a love for the youth of the community. He helped numerous kids with their livestock projects and made it a priority that each youth and their animal were in top notch shape for the show. Dale loved his family and always found a way to make each member feel like the most important person in the world. He was known for his stories; he loved visiting the care centers and singing hymns, he was a mountain of a man but gentle and kind. He was a lifelong member of the Lords Church and worked diligently with the youth and loved the lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Mildred Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Ann Montgomery of Crosbyton, one son Monty Dale Montgomery and his wife Dorothy of Lubbock, two daughters, Sherry Lynn Pierce and her husband Bruce of Sudan, Tx, Suzy Gail Galloway and her husband Guy of Crosbyton, one brother, Dwayne Montgomery and his wife Sue of Amherst, seven grandchildren, Heather Pierce, Heath Pierce and his wife Angie, Garrett Winters, Brooke and her husband Wade Stewart, Kalley, Kylan and Brody Galloway, seven great grandchildren, Jonna, Savanah, Morgan, Kara, Colby, Case and Ella. Pallbearers will be Garrett Winters, Heath Pierce, Wade Stewart, Brody Galloway, Don Weems, Glen Jones, Darl Walker, Aunie Sellers and Donald Ellison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White River Youth Camp Foundation, P.O. Box 455, Crosbyton, TX. 79322
