ROLAND MIZE HURT IN CAR WRECK

Left Arm Is Badly Crushed At Elbow

Roland Mize was seriously injured late Sunday evening in a car accident near Abernathy, his brother-in-law, Harrison Edwards, reports. Mr. Mize's left arm at the elbow was crushed and the arm badly lacerated. He received cuts over both eyes.

He was carried to the West Texas Hospital for treatment. Mr. Edwards said Tuesday the attending doctors said they had little hope of saving Mr. Mize's arm. He received the injury when a truck sideswiped his car.

CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Roland Willie Mize, 86, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Mize died Wednesday, April 10, 1996, at Crosbyton Hospital.

He was born Jan. 31, 1910, in Iola. He married Christine Edwards on May 5, 1934, in Crosbyton. He was a member of Crosbyton First Baptist Church and the Downtown Bible Class. He moved to Crosbyton from Petersburg in 1985.

He was a truck driver for a gravel company. A son, James Roland, died Jan. 22, 1982.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lou Palmer of Long Beach, Calif., and Bonnie Roybal of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Aline Holley of Oklahoma City and Georgia Smith of O´Donnell; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Christine Mize, 90, of Tucson, Arizona and formerly Crosbyton will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Christine passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born January 19, 1917 in Crosbyton to the late Francis M. and Melinda (Ausmus) Edwards. On May 5, 1934 she married Roland Mize in Crosbyton. He died on April 10, 1996. Christine was a homemaker and a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church where she served on the kitchen committee for many years. She moved to Tucson five years ago from Crosbyton.

She is preceded in death by a son; James Roland Mize who passed away on January 22, 1982. She was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include; two daughters; Lou Palmer of Newport Beach, CA, Bonnie Roybal of Tucson, AZ, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild and an adopted grandchild.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM to service time in the courtyard at the church.
