Services for Henry Mitchell, 75, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 1996, in the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Vance Mitchell, pastor of the Floydada First Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Mr. Mitchell died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 1996, in Lubbock´s University Medical Center from injuries suffered in an auto accident on August 6, 1996.
He was born April 29, 1921, in Hill County and married Mozelle Odam on March 7, 1943, in Austin.
He attended the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. He was an electrician at Hodges Electrical in Plainview for 12 years and farmed at Mt. Blanco in Floyd County from 1950-71. He was a veteran of W.W.II, serving in the Army Corps. He moved to this area in 1938 from Hill County and to the Crosbyton area in 1959 from Plainview. He is preceded in death by a son, Dean Mitchell who passed away in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Mitchell of Crosbyton; three sons, Gene Mitchell of Lubbock, Marry Mitchell of Crosbyton, and Jim Mitchell of Stephenville; one daughter, Cynthia Layer of Idalou; one brother, Elmer Mitchell of Burleson; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Larry Mitchell, Jim Mitchell, Wes Mitchell, Chipper Mitchell, Gary Mitchell, and Harlan Mitchell. Nephews served as honorary pallbearers.

Graveside services for Mozelle Ruth Mitchell, 85, of Crosbyton will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 8, 2010 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with Rev. Pete Flores officiating. Burial is under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Mrs. Mitchell passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born April 27, 1924 in Paducah to the late Bunyan Clark and Virgie Ruth Odam.
She married Henry Harding Mitchell March 7, 1943 in Austin, Texas. He preceded her in death August 10, 1996. A homemaker, Mozelle moved to Crosbyton from Plainview and was of Pentecostal faith.
She is preceded in death by a son, Dean Mitchell who passed away in 1991.
Survivors include three sons; Gene Mitchell and wife Coleta of Lubbock, Larry Mitchell of Crosbyton and Jimmy Mitchell, one daughter; Cynthia Layer of Idalou, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.Obituary courtesy of: Adams Funeral Home
