Obituary

Services for Era Maye Curry Mitchell, 81, of Burleson and formerly of Crosbyton, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 1996, in the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Leonard Harper, minister of the Church and Loyd Hall, minister of the Church of Christ in Gatesville, Texas, officiating.

Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Mrs. Mitchell died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 1996, at Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth following an illness.

She was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Hill County, and she married Elmer R. Mitchell on Oct. 6, 1934, in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1996.

She was a nurse´s aide.

Survivors include four sons, Ronald Mitchell of Hillsboro, John Mitchell of Burleson, Tommy Mitchell of Alvarado and James Mitchell of Lubbock; four daughters, Shirley Little of Alvarado, Judy Culbertson of Itasca and Nicki Barlett and Karen Ellis, both of Burleson; a brother, Thomas Curry of Abilene; five sisters, Jewel Fink of El Cajon, Calif., Dorothy Sanders of Hillsboro, Maxine Curtis of Abilene, Evelyn Taggert of DeSoto and Barbara Lane of El Paso; 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
