Funeral services for William B. Mitchell, 78, a retired farmer, were held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Dennis Taylor, Crosbyton, and Kenneth Martin, Floydada, officiating.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funereral Home.
Mr. Mitchell died in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, where he had been hospitalized for 81 days.
A native of Tennessee, Mitcehll lived in Childress County for 40 years before moving here in 1951.
Survivors include the wife, Annie Mae; three daughters, Mrs. Wade Kimbrough, Childress; Mrs. Bill Odom, Crosbyton; and Mrs. Carl Morrison, Lindsey, Calif.; a son, J.T. Mitchell, Denver City, a brother, R. L. Mitchell, Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Hamer and Mrs. R.E. Pope, both of Nashville; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday for Mrs. Annie May Mitchell, 78, a resident of Crosby County since 1951.
Services were held in the First Baptist Church with Elder Joe Jackson of Cone officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.
A native of Dozier, Ala., Mrs. Mitchell died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday at the Crosbyton hospital after an extended illness.
She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, J. T. Mitchell of Denver City; three daughters, Mrs. W. C. Odom of Crosbyton; Mrs. Carl Morrison of Lindsay, Calif., and Mrs. Wade Kimbrough of Siloam Springs, Ark.,; two brothers, S. J. Handley of Floydada and J.O. Handley of Carmel, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. George Heath of Lubbock, Mrs. Chester Crawford of Hollis, Okla., and Mrs. L. A. Smith of Hart´s Camp; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Griffin Odom, Allen Mize, Woodrow Brints, Woodrow Robertson, Tillman Reeves, Joe Yarborough, L. M. Powell and D. B. Ellison.
