Services for J. W. McDonald, 81, Held Here
Funeral services for James W. McDonald, 81, longtime resident of the Crosbyton area, were held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Crosbyton Methodist Church, with Rev. Carlton Thomson, pastor, officiating.Mr. McDonald died about 10 p.m. Monday night in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital where he had been a patient for 10 days.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery beside his wife, who preceded him in death in 1956. King Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Born in Leon County October 11, 1880, Mr. McDonald first moved to Crosby County with his family in 1925. In the early 30´s he lived for a short time both at Lorenzo and Levelland before returning here in 1935. A farmer, he lived just west of Crosbyton until his retirement in 1946 when he moved into town. He was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lila Belle Roberts and Mrs. Hubert Curry, both of Crosbyton, and Mrs. Esterlean Hobbs, Glendale, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
