Rudolph McCurdy and the former Iva Watson were married Aug. 31, 1941, in the home of Rev. Victor Crabtree in Mt. Blanco, TX. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph McCurdy celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Friday, Aug. 31, 2001.

Obituary

Services for William Rudolph McCurdy, 87, of Crosbyton were at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 3, 2005 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Burial will followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Rudolph passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at his home.

Rudolph was born on March 21, 1918 to Phillip Garfield and Nola May (Fulton) McCurdy in Fort Payne, Alabama. On August 31, 1941 he married Iva Elizabeth Watson in Mt. Blanco, Texas. He was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Crosbyton Sr. Citizens. He moved to the Crosbyton area at the age of 18 and farmed in the Mt. Blanco area.

He is preceded in death by; three brothers; Leon McCravey, Gerald McCurdy and Travis McCurdy, and a sister Betty Bray.

Survivors include; his wife; Iva of Crosbyton, two sons and their wives; Larry and Judy of Lubbock, Phillip and Jill of Marble Falls, two brothers; Leonard McCravey of Montana, Charles McCurdy of Georgia, two sisters; Helen Miller of Dallas, Reba Bailey of Georgia, and five grandchildren; Russell McCurdy, Cindy Harper, Cody McCurdy, Lillie Hagens and Sara McCurdy.

Services for Iva McCurdy, 90, of Crosbyton will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Iva passed away Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Crosbyton Hospital. She was born November 26, 1915 in Farmersville, Texas to the late James Hines and Lillie Martin Watson.

On August 31, 1941 she married Rudolph McCurdy in Mt. Blanco. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2005.

She was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church, the Mt. Blanco Club and was a homemaker. Iva had lived in the Mt. Blanco area most of her life. Survivors include; two sons and their wives; Larry and Judy McCurdy of Lubbock, Phillip and Jill McCurdy of Marble Falls, a brother; Millard Watson of Floydada, two sisters; Viola Green and Melba Raines both of Lubbock, five grandchildren; Russell McCurdy, Cindy Harper, Cody McCurdy, Lillie Hagens and Sara Mercer and a great grandchild; Caleb Hagens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to service time at the church.
