Services Held on Saturday For Nora McCurdy

Funeral services for Miss Nora Mae McCurdy, long-time resident of Crosbyton, were held Saturday afternoon, May 20, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Methodist church. Rev. Loyd Hamilton, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. J. W. Watson of Lubbock, a former pastor of the Crosbyton church. She was buried in Crosbyton cemetery with King Funeral home in charge.

Miss McCurdy died Thursday afternoon in the home of Mrs. M. P. Mask, her sister, at Bridgeport. She became ill several months ago and was carried to a Dallas hospital for treatment. She was later taken to the home of her sister at Bridgeport.

Miss McCurdy had been a resident of Crosbyton for many years, moving to this city in 1917 with the family. She was a charter memeber of the Crosbyton chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and served for several years as secretary of the First Methodist church of Crosbyton. Members of the Eastern Star attended the services in a body.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Yarbrough of Lubbock, Mrs. M. P. Mask of Bridgeport, Mrs. Walter Phillips of Lubbock andMiss Clara McCurdy of Dallas; and four rothers, Clyde McCurdy of Bridgeport, Everett McCurdy of Rhome, Dave McCurdy of Los Vegas, N. Mex., and Russell McCurdy of Crosbytn.

Pallbearers were Olen Littlefield, D. A. Edwards, D. H. Cornelius, W. P. Walker, Leslie Mitchell, F. M. Dunn, Q. L. Hames and J. A. Parks.
