Ronald Wayne McClure, 79, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton, with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating, assisted by Rev. Duane McClure. Burial will follow in Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Visitation for family and friends will be at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the funeral home.
Mr. McClure was born on April 6, 1932, in Crosbyton, Texas, to James Hoyt McClure and Marie Brannon McClure. He graduated from Crosbyton High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. He was a farmer and rancher in the Ralls and Crosbyton communities. He was a very loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Jean Schluter and a brother, James Brannon McClure.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda Thornhill of Crosbyton, Brenda Davis & husband Steve of Crosbyton and Doug McClure & wife Cindy of Lubbock, a brother, Duane McClure & wife Roberta of Nocona, his loving partner & caregiver, Juanita Arney, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable memorials be sent to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton.
