CROSBYTON (Special) — Graveside services for Wayne McCarty, 52, of Houston will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Cemetery with Elder George Johnson of Idalou and Elder Jim Jackson of Floydada officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
McCarty died at 7:15 a.m. Friday in Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston after a lengthy illness.
Born in Afton, Texas, the Texas Tech graduate was a geophysicist. He married Shirley Roberts and had lived in Houston for 27 years. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and had been a deacon for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Alpha of Crosbyton; three daughters, Cynthia Heflin of Azle, Laura Jane Dallas of the Canary Islands, and Nancy Simmons of Houston; a brother, Elvis of Crosbyton; a sister, Waynell Harris of Scotland; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Wayne McCarty Memorial Fund, Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 1522 Gardenia St., Houston, Texas 77018.
