Harold MasseyServices for Harold Massey, 75, of Lubbock will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at LakeRidge United Methodist Church in Lubbock with Rev. John Burk and Rev. Dean Bradley of Dublin officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Harold was born January 6, 1935 in Aspermont to Valton and Novelle Marr Massey. On January 11, 1985 he married Kathryn Ellison Scott in Lubbock County.

He was a member of LakeRidge United Methodist Church where he and his wife organized the Heart Pillow Ministry in 2001. Harold had a passion for the Heart Pillow Ministry and thoroughly enjoyed working with those involved. He also enjoyed serving in the Stepping Stones Ministry at LakeRidge UMC. Harold was an active member of the Lubbock Downtown Lions Club. He was a past office holder in the T.I.A.D.A and a member of the N.I.A.D.A., auto dealer associations.

In his early years he worked for the Texas Highway Dept. then owned and operated several Gulf Service Stations in Lubbock. He was the owner operator of M & M Auto Sales for 20 years before his retirement in 1995. He devoted his remaining years to real estate and travel.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Roger Massey. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Massey of Lubbock; three sons, Johnny Massey, Danny Massey and wife Rhonda, Darrin Scott and wife Denice all of Lubbock; two daughters and their husbands, Micki and Bart Woodman of Dumas, Amy and Mike Manchee of Amarillo; a brother and his wife, Dickie and Mildred Massey of Post; grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Massey, Matt (Nicole), Chois, Brandel and Kami Woodman, Hunter and Kaitlynn Scott, Sarah and Rebekah Manchee.

Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Greg Massey, Dustin Massey, Kelly Baker, Kam Baker and Klent Baker, and cousin Fred Cain. Honorary pallbearers will be Paris Burnham, the LakeRidge UMC Heart Pillow Ministry, and the Lubbock Downtown Lions Club.

The family suggests memorials to LakeRidge United Methodist Church Chapel Fund 4701 82nd St. Lubbock, Texas 79424.

Kathryn MasseyFamily and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Kathryn Massey, 68, of Lubbock on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Celebration services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, in LakeRidge United Methodist Church Chapel with burial following at 4 p.m. in Crosbyton Cemetery. Our beloved Kathy went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2011.

She was born on March 28, 1943, in Dublin, Texas, to Henry Irwin and Mary (Hancock) Ellison. Kathy graduated from Crosbyton High School and attended West Texas State and attended real estate classes, obtaining her real estate and broker's license. She worked as a teaching assistant before moving to Lubbock in 1977. She co-owned Ellison and Scott Real Estate in Lubbock, where she also worked as a broker. Years later, Kathy worked as office manager for M&M Auto Sales, retiring in 1995.

After retiring, Kathy continued to oversee several rental properties. She married Harold W. Massey on Jan. 11, 1985, and they enjoyed traveling for many years until his death on July 4, 2010. Kathy also enjoyed all kinds of crafts, which included quilting. She was also an excellent seamstress and cook. Kathy was a faithful member of LakeRidge United Methodist Church, where she and Harold started the Red Heart Pillow Ministry.

Survivors include three children, Micki Woodman and husband Bart of Dumas, Darrin Scott and wife Denice of Lubbock, and Amy Manchee and husband Mike of Amarillo; two stepchildren, Johnny Massey of Lubbock and Dan Massey and wife Rhonda of Lubbock; mother, Mary Ellison of Lubbock; a sister, Sandra Witt and husband George of Lubbock; eight grandchildren, Matt and wife Nicole, Chois, Brandel and Kami Woodman, Hunter and Kaitlynn Scott, and Sarah and Rebekah Manchee; and several step-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Henry; a stepson, Roger Massey; and a brother, Terry Dean Ellison.
