Larry Dall Mason lost a 10-day battle for survival against critical injuries about 2:45 a.m. last Wednesday in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock. The 17-year-old Crosbyton High School senior sustained the injuries in a two-car crash June 24 in the eastern section of Crosbyton.

Three times he had undergone surgery. He was "holding his own" under intensive care in the Lubbock hospital before his condition began deteriorating late last Tuesday.

Memorial rites for young Mason were conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor. He was assisted by the Rev. James Richardson, pastor of the Assembly of God Church.

Interment was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.

Born January 22, 1956 in Crosbyton, Larry was a lifelong resident of this community.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Mason; two brothers, Billy Joe Mason of Ozark, Ala., and Jack Wiseman of Arlington; two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Edwards of Crosbyton and Mrs. Emma Rose Parker of Carlisle.

Serving as pallbearers were Joe Bob Kirk, Troy Rich, Jackie Hamersley, Art Griffin, Woodrow Robertson, J.W. McClure, Dennis Robertson and Harold Rembert.
