CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Mrs. Maria Martinez, 54, of Crosbyton, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church here with the Rev. Harold Waldo, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martinez died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Crosbyton Hospital after a short illness.
She married Patricio Martinez at Sinton before moving to Crosbyton in 1951.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Roquela Villasana of Crosbyton; nine sons, Andrew of Houston, Joe Louis, Patricio Jr., Arthur, Santos, Oscar, Rene, Israel, and Freddy, all of Crosbyton; three daughters, Mrs. E.S. Meralda Mendola and Miss Melinda Martinez, both of Crosbyton, and Mrs. Margaret Garcia of Lorenzo; two brothers, Gilbert Perez of Sitton and Jose Perez of San Antonio; three sisters, Mrs. Jesus Torres of Sitton, Mrs. Josephine Vasquez and Mrs. Fred Rodriquez, both of San Antonio; and 15 grandchildren.

Patricio Martinez, Sr. was born in New Braunfels on March 17, 1926 and was called to heaven on October 2, 2009.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Church with Father Jim O'Connor officiating.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
He married Maria Romula Contreras on January 27, 1945 in Sinton, Texas.
Together they had 12 children and 1951 they moved to Crosby County. He was resident of Lubbock at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maria and a son Arturo.
Those left to cherish his memories are his three daughters, Esmeralda(Ruben) Leyva, Margaret(Tom) Garcia and Melinda (Lawrence)Garcia all of Lubbock; eight sons, Andrew (Julia)of Ralls, Patricio, Jr.(Rosa) of Crosbyton, Israel of Rockwall, and Joe Louis(Lydia), Santos(Maggie), Oscar(Margie), Rene and Freddie(Rosa) all of Lubbock; 32 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Garcia, Marty Martinez, Jaime Martinez, Eddie Garcia, O. J. Martinez, Joey Martinez, David Andrew Martinez and Justin Garcia.
