Rosary for Juan Soto Martinez, 66, of Lubbock and formerly of Crosbyton was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 1990, in Crosbyton´s San Jose Catholic Church with Rev. Ramirez, pastor of St. Joseph´s Catholic Church, officiating. Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1990, in the same church with the same officiant.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Mr. Martinez died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 1990, at Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital following an illness.

He was born in July 21, 1923, in Mexico, and moved to Lubbock in 1969, from Crosbyton. He married Maria Eva Villanueva, Mar. 24, 1943, in Sinton. He was a farmer and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Daniel V. of Lubbock and Thomas of Austin; two daughters, Minnie Padilla of Owatonna, NM, and Irene Martinez of Lubbock; a brother, Patricio Martinez of Lubbock; a sister, Juanita Rodriguez of Crosbyton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Daniel Padilla, Michael Moa, Santos Martinez, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Pat Martinez Jr., and Joe Louis Martinez.
