U.S.Flag   Services for Daniel Martinez, 53, of Lubbock were held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2002, at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Michael Dwyer and Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating.

Rosary was said at 7 p.m., Sunday, Mar. 31, 2002, at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

He died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born May 8, 1948, in Sinton, TX.

He was a member of the St. Joseph´s Catholic Church in Lubbock. He had worked at Reese Air Force Base and retired in 1994. He was an U.S. Army veteran of Viet Nam where he served as an Airborne unit sergeant. He received the Bronze Star and an Air Medal. He moved to Lubbock in 1970 after his military service and was a former resident of Crosbyton.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Eva Martinez of Lubbock; one brother, Thomas of Lubbock; and two sisters, Irene Martinez of Lubbock and Minnie Padilla of St. Paul, MN; nine nieces and nephews.
