Obituary
William Travis Martin, a former longtime resident of this community, was claimed by death last Thursday in the Colonial Nursing Home in Lubbock at the age of 77.Funeral rites for Mr. Martin were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in King Funeral Home chapel here. Officiating were the Rev. Dale Cain, pastor of First Baptist Church in Ralls and the Rev. Gene Hawkins, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Lubbock.
Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of King Funeral Home.
Pallbearers included; Roger Smith, Mike McClure, Russell McClure, Billy McClure, Bill McClure, Ivan Sandlin and Dale Gibbs.
Born Feb. 1, 1897 at Itasca, Martin moved to the Crosbyton area in the early 1900´s. He lived in Ralls before entering the nursing home in Lubbock.
Mr. Martin was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Dale Gibbs of Bowie, Md., Mrs. Billy McClure of Austin and Novis Martin of Lubbock; four sisters, Mrs. Belzora Smith, Mrs. Betty Alexander and Mrs. John Crump, all of Crosbyton, and Mrs. Fred McDermitt of Pueblo, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
