CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for James Benjamin Marley, 89, of Crosbyton, will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Victor Crabtree, a Dickens minister, officiating, and the Rev. Stanley Dickson, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church in Plainview, assisting.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home here.

Marley died at 10 p.m. Thursday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a long illness.

The Jack County native married Lillie Spence in Floydada April 2, 1916. He moved to Crosby County in 1912 from Borden County.

The retired farmer was a Baptist and a Mason.

Survivors include two sons, Bill of Crosbyton and A. R. of McAdoo; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Harry Jung and his grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Marley, a longtime resident of the East Plains and Crosbyton since coming to this community at age 16, was claimed by death at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

Mrs. Marley was 85.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) in the Pansy Baptist Church, where Mrs. Marley had been active for 65 years. The eulogy is to be given by Bobbie Trull with the Rev. Jim Rouse, pastor of the Pansy Church, and the Rev. Victor Crabtree, retired Baptist minister from Spur, also assisting with the service.

Interment will be made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Grandsons are to serve as pallbearers.

The former Lillie Mae Spence was born Sept. 21, 1896 in Bell County, Tex. She moved to Crosby County from Bell County 69 years ago.

On April 2, 1916, she was married to James Benjimin Marley in Floydada. Mr. Marley preceded his wife in death on March 16, 1978.

Mrs. Marley was a housewife.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Marley of Crosbyton and A.R. Marley of McAdoo; one brother, Charlie Spence of Floydada; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Another son, Elvis Marley, died in 1972.
