Aubrey J. Marlar, 96, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 9, 2006. Graveside services were at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 11, 2006 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with Troy Rich officiating.
He was in the Hico Nursing Home. Aubrey was born June 16th 1910 to Allie and Edgar Marlar in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
He was a member of Duffau Baptist Church.
Aubrey served in the U. S. Army from 1942 � 1943. He was a farmer most of his life in Arkansas and West Texas. Aubrey was a very hard worker and a good business man.He married Sue Roy in 1945. They were divorced and no children were born in this union. In 1950 he married Faye Moses. She had four children from a previous marriage. They were all small when they married. They were married several years. As the children got older the marriage ended in divorce. But Faye and the children kept in touch with Aubrey. When he moved to Hico he met a nice lady, Marie Rainwater and they started dating. That relationship lasted for over 30 years. Marie had one daughter and three sons. Aubrey was like a Daddy to all of them. Aubrey and Marie took care of each other. Aubrey was really sad when Marie had to go to the nursing home. He missed her so very much.
Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents Allie and Ed Marlar, sister Myrtle Nickson and brothers; Walter and Lonza Marlar and one nephew Dale Murphy.
Survivors include; six nieces and one nephew; Nell, Robbie, Doris, Barbara, Brenda, Kay, and Buster, Gary and Beth Rainwater and Daughers Tery & Diane Rainwater; Don Rainwater and daughters, Brenda and Jerry Harris and daughters and a lot of good friends and neighbors.
