Graveside services for Elvie Mackey, 96, of Lamesa, formerly of Idalou, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in Crosbyton Cemetery with Elder George Johnson and Elder Gail Faries officiating.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church with the same officiants under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mrs. Mackey passed away Sunday, July 13, 2003, in the Sage Healthcare Center in Lamesa. She was born May 7, 1907, in Rochester, Haskell County, TX. She moved to this area in 1916. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Opal Anderson and Eula Faye Upham; a brother, Chester Campbell; and two sisters, Ivy Wall and Velcie Lee "Leo" Koelder.
She is survived by two sons, Cecil Richardson of Hale Center and Elton Richardson of Idalou; two daughters, Willie B. Lampp of Sulphur Springs and Nancy A. Gray of Brownfield; and by a sister, Viola Marley of Crosbyton. Also surviving are 14 granchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 11 step great granchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pall bearers. The family suggests memorials to Lamesa Meals on Wheels or Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church.
