Services for Lorenzo Lopez, 71, of Lorenzo will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Ascencion Sanchez officiating.
Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. A prayer service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the same Church.
Mr. Lopez passed away at his Lorenzo home on Saturday, July 2, 2005. He was born Sept. 28, 1933 in Charlotte, and married Mary Lopez Landin on July 15, 2003 in Lorenzo. He was a farmer and had worked for Crosbyton Seed Company. He was a member of Templo El Redentor. He moved to Lorenzo in 2003 from Crosbyton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Lorenzo; 5 sons, Lorenzo Lopez, Jr. of Slaton, Samuel Lopez of Crosbyton, Daniel Lopez of Oklahoma City, OK, Lloyd Lopez and Jason Harley Lopez both of Lubbock; 3 daughters, Diana Lopez and Debrorah Lopez, both of Lubbock and Lisa Lopez of Lewisville; 7 stepchildren, Steve Landin of Carrollton, Daniel Landin of LaVernia, Victor Landin, Jr. of Brownsville and John Landin of La Vernia, Debra Herd of Frisco, Lori Landin of Dallas and Helen Rodriquez of La Vernia. Also surviving are 5 brothers, Pantaleon Lopez of Oklahoma, Ignacio Lopez of Oklahoma City, Pedro Lopez of Crosbyton, Pablito Lopez and Lloyd Lopez both of Altus, Ok; 6 sisters, Raymunda Medellin of Crosbyton, Dominga Reyes of Mercedes, Pifannia Bella and Ninfa Hutchinon, both of Oklahoma City, Simona Soliz of Altus, Ok and Loyesa Brocca of Homestead, Florida; 42 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lopez will be at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until service time.
